Why don’t we pray?
Why do we wait?
So often, when something happens, we try to solve it ourselves. And usually go round and round in circles, getting nowhere until finally we say “Why don’t we pray”.
I can give you lots of examples of God answering prayers, though not always in the way we expect.
A friend had to get to work in Fleet at a certain time and there was no convenient bus. We prayed that the Lord would cause an earlier bus to be scheduled. He did.
A little girl was in hospital with very bad blood poisoning. We prayed, now she is back at home and full of life.
Farnham ASSIST team has prayed for new premises to enable more outreach. They now have beautiful new offices.
I’m sure that we all can think of many more examples, but WHY DO WE WAIT?
Why don’t we pray immediately???
Matthew 7:7 & 8
Jesus says “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened”.

A New Place in Farnham
We would like to share with you some very exciting news about Farnham ASSIST. As you may know, in the Autumn of last year we really felt that God was calling us to reach out further into the local community and to have a presence in the town - namely, a place....
- which embodies our Mission and Values;
- where we can be where our clients are, close to the centre of the town, easily accessible and easy to find;
- where our clients, old and new, can pop in, have a chat and feel welcomed and “cared for”, 4 or 5 days a week, between the hours of, say, 10 am – 3pm;
- which gives us a “face” as well as being at the end of a telephone or at various events;
- where we can spend time with our clients, individually or as a small group (e.g. for Bible
Studies);
- where people can enquire about our services, the churches in the town, services for the elderly within the town (e.g. the Brightwells Gostrey Centre, Farnham Hospital) and so on;
- which could be used on a regular basis by other agencies for older people, such as Age
Concern and the Citizens Advice Bureau.
As always, God has been so faithful and He has given us a wonderful opportunity right in the centre of Farnham. At the end of January, we acquired the lease on No. 12 Borelli Yard. It is a lovely two storey building and we will be using the top floor as an office and the ground floor will be open as an Information Centre for elderly folk in Farnham. We plan to be working with local churches and other organisations to provide a warm, Christian place where older people can come to find out what we do or just to have a chat over a cup of coffee or tea with one of our Christian volunteers.
Unfortunately, to provide this service, we need to have planning permission for Change of Use and that has been applied for. Until we have heard whether it has been approved (thought to be around the end of March or beginning of April), we cannot formally open the building (which will be known as “No. 12”) and do all that we feel that God is calling us to do.
We would very much appreciate your prayers. If you would like to come and see the new facilities or to be involved with this work, please do contact either of us on 01252 717710.

Creative Prayer Youth Praise
& 9 till 9
at St James' Rowledge
I just want to express my thanks to all who came and supported this event, both physically on the Sunday and Monday and spiritually in prayer, if you were not able to actually come.
It was amazing to see people of all ages praying side by side whether through writing a prayer and sticking it to a globe, writing in sand or putting a prayer into a balloon.
I thank God for His wonderful gift of creativity!
