Ignite
Town Wide Youth Event

IGNITE is the name of a town wide youth worship event that kicks off at 8 – 9.45pm on Saturday 25th April at 40Degreez. We have been working closely with young people and church leaders across the town to put together something that will encourage Christian young people and positively impact any of their friends who come along who don’t necessarily share their faith.
The focus will be on quality and relevancy, asking the question “What does it look like for young people to live in the hope of a God who is constantly seeking to restore his creation?” There will be worship, conversation, prayer, doughnuts and a huge amount of creativity.
In addition to the main event there will be an after hours slot, 10 -11.00pm, for teenagers 15yrs plus, who want to grapple with some of the issues raised in the main meeting, allowing space to ask questions and consider answers.
IGNITE is a resource to serve the local Christian community, shaped by young people for young people.

Look at the mess,
It must be Easter!
Once again FAST has a fully booked Easter calendar – unfortunately so full that we had to turn away requests for assemblies and lessons.
The office is a hive of activity with resources being prepared
at home as well as in the office – volunteers coming in and helping with cutting out, painting, counting resources into boxes and bags. What a mess! BUT - What a lot of fun!
Lesson in a box – lesson plan, resources and feedback forms are all included in a box – one for each lesson! 70 Easter lessons will be taught this year and each box will contain the correct number of resources for each pupil to have his/her own Easter craft. Such is the excitement of the pupils when they see what we are bringing in for them to do and to take home.
Lessons are fully researched and prepared and differentiated so that every pupil will be able to access the lesson on his/her learning level.
Pupils look forward to FAST going in with a lesson or assembly – as much as members of FAST enjoy going into the schools and classrooms.
Fun and colourful – even the youngest enjoy the lessons
Always a favourite – Easter baskets – the very youngest pupils engage in the Easter story on PowerPoint. The sadness, happiness and surprise of Easter is openly discussed in an age appropriate way. The children then make baskets with their own surprise – a small chick is inside each egg placed in the baskets.
Easter is such a wonderful time to be in school, the possibilities are endless as is the enthusiasm and joy shared by all, teachers, pupils and FAST members.
If you would like to get involved in any way with FAST and become part of the team, please get in touch with the FCCT office. We would love to have you on board!

They’ll also be tea, coffee, a cake sale, tombola and an opportunity to find out more about the project.
4 girls from the group will be off to Durban on 8th July along with Mike and Gem Henson who help lead the Orbit group. They will stay until 22nd July and during that time will be helping with a project that the Good News Centre in Chatsworth run that helps children with HIV/AIDS and their families.
The group are having to fundraise £1325 each to take part. The group have applied and successfully received a couple of grants already, one from The Paul Napper Trust and the other from the Youth Opportunity Fund. They have been working hard getting extra babysitting jobs and saving pocket money. Hopefully the fundraisers will contribute to the rest of the funds needed.
They will also be holding a Beetle Drive on Saturday 23rd May 7.30-10pm at Weydon Christian Centre, £5 per ticket.
