Needed: Volunteers for exciting Girls Project (Ladies only!)

GEMS is a girls project which provides a series of evenings and outings especially for teenage girls aged between 11-17 years living predominantly in the Hale and Heath End area.

GEMS started in September 2008 and now has 90+ girls on the books mostly from Heath End and All Hallows Schools. So far as well as holding 8 girls evenings we’ve also had 2 trips, a residential to Somerset and a felt making workshop.

GEMS is all about  helping  girls realise their God given potential, worth and value. We hope that through our girls evenings and events we provide  a safe place where girls can learn more about themselves and others and  a supportive environment where they can be encouraged, receive advice, have fun and develop as young women.

We have a core team of 5 of us from different churches who run the project and a wider team who help with the running of girls evenings and trips when needed. We hope to develop the project further this year and are looking for women who might be interested in becoming involved. If you would like more information, or to have a chat about becoming part of the team, do get in contact, we’d love to hear from you.
