Lent 2010 - News Release from Churches Together in farnham
More than 20 different activities during Lent are detailed in a free booklet ’Taste and See’ published by Churches Together in Farnham. All these events are open to everyone.
The booklet features an extra for Lent 2010. In addition to their regular Lent programmes, several churches will be hosting daytime or evening sessions especially for visitors from other churches and denominations or from none. These ‘opportunities to get to know each other better’ include coffee mornings, talks and ecumenical Stations of the Cross.
The booklet lists a wide variety of studies, from taster sessions for an academic degree course ‘Exploring Christianity’, to house groups and church meetings on prayer and other aspects of life, many of them based on Lent books or courses. They will be led by clergy and lay people, including a retired bishop and a religious sister. In addition there are opportunities to join in worship and meditation, listen to music recitals (in support of Christian Aid), and take part in a Dance Day for Lenten reflection - no ‘previous experience of movement or dance necessary’.
The free booklet ‘Taste and See’ is widely available at local churches and public outlets around Farnham or it can be downloaded from here.
