Internet Churches

Below are links to a few of the many internet based churches. If you are searching for answers to spiritual questions, if you can't get to Church for some reason or if you just want to explore the Christian faith anonymously then these resources may be of help.

i-Church

What is i-church
i-church is an online Christian community rooted in the Diocese of Oxford under the pastoral care of the Bishop of Oxford. It is part of the Church of England and the Anglican Communion. The Bishop of Oxford has appointed the Rt Revd Colin Fletcher, Bishop of Dorchester, an area Bishop in the diocese, to provide episcopal care for i-church.

Who can belong to i-church
i-church came into being to -
  • provide a Christian community for people who want to explore Christian discipleship but are not able to belong to a local congregation.
  • provide an additional means of support to those who do not find all that they need within their own worshipping community
  • provide a supportive spiritual community for people who travel, and who are not able to maintain relationships with a geographical Christian community.

 Church on the Net

Church on the Net is aimed at people who are not already engaged with the Christian faith. Its purpose is to bring God and the idea of church into their comfort zone, providing a safe and self-directed way to find answers to their questions about Christianity.

Atheists, agnostics, searchers and members of other faiths are all welcomed here. Open 24/7 and accessible from all over the world, the site explains core Christian beliefs and uses the internet to direct people towards further study and items of interest.

Page sizes and images are kept to a minimum, to make the site more accessible to people in countries or regions where broadband access is unavailable or prohibitively expensive.

Should anyone wish to explore a developing belief in God, they are encouraged to join a physical church near to them, where they can experience Christian fellowship and discipleship.

Church on the Net can also be useful to Christians who can’t get to church, for whatever reason, and to those who may want to go back to church after a long absence.

 St Pixels

St Pixels is a revolutionary online church. It is an experiment in online Christian community sponsored by the Methodist Church of Great Britain and supported by an international and ecumenical group of Christians.

St Pixels core values:

St Pixels welcomes people from many different backgrounds and traditions. To express our shared values as an ecumenical Christian community, members have worked out a core values statement:

God is revealed to seekers by many different means, including creation, the Bible, the life of Jesus and the Spirit-filled witness of the Church. St Pixels is one expression of that historical, international and universal Church. We aim to create sacred space on the Internet where we can seek God together, enjoy each other's company and reflect God's love for the world. Those of any belief or none are welcome to take part in our activities, providing they accept the Christian focus of our community and respect other participants.
