Music at Lunchtime

MUSIC AT LUNCHTIME is a series of concerts (not too heavy!) given at Farnham United Reformed Church, South Street, Farnham, Surrey, on Tuesdays, usually the first Tuesday of the month, from October until the Spring. Concerts start at 1.10 p.m. and finish round about 1.50 p.m.
So far this this season (starting October 2011) we have had concerts from The Mike Miller Jazz Trio, the D'Avanzo Piano Trio and Litsa Tunnah, violin. :
Tuesday 7th February 2012 at 1.10 p.m.: Gillian Lloyd, organ
Gillian is a well-known local organ recitalist as well as being the organist at Guildford United Reformed Church.
We are very grateful to Gillian for stepping in at short notice when it appeared that the artists who were originally to appear were unable to do so.
Wednesday 28th March 2012 at 1.10 pm: Chris Pelly, trumpet and Barbara Henvest, piano
Chris Pelly is currently reading music at the University of Leeds. He is well known to regular attenders at our concerts, having conducted Schubert’s 5th Symphony here in April 2010.Chris’s concert is devoted to modern music for trumpet and piano.
Barbara Henvest is the keyboard player for the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Please note the change of weekday!
There will be a recital on Tuesday 10th April 2012 at 1.10 p.m by Matthew Rickard, piano.
Matthew Rickard read Music at the University of Surrey where he studied the piano with Clive Williamson. He pursued his postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, specialising in piano accompaniment. Matthew currently enjoys a busy career as a chamber musician and soloist. Recent highlights include appearances at the 2011 English Music Festival and at the National Concert Hall in Dublin
There are no concerts in this series during Lent in order to avoid clashing with the Tuesday lunchtime concerts given during that time at St Thomas-on-The Bourne.
Entry to the concerts is free: there is a retiring collection to cover costs. Further details can be found on our website: www.musicatlunchtime.org.uk
