Gift Aid Software

GATS is an easy to use software application for recording donations that qualify for tax recovery under the Gift Aid scheme.  Once donations have been recorded, whether they be single gifts, by standing order, or by weekly envelope schemes, it is then very quick and simple to produce the claim form for submission to HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs).

Gift Aid adds 28p for each £1 donated to the church or charity, and claims may be submitted at any time once a sufficient value has accumulated.  GATS tells you at any time how much is available to be claimed.

GATS does all the maths, aggregation of gifts per donor, arrangement of donors into the required order for the claim form, etc. so that production of the claim takes only a minute.  The total figure from the form that GATS has produced is then copied onto the HMRC summary claim form, the claimant's bank details are added, and the form can be despatched.  The reclaimed tax normally arrives in the designated bank account after approximately 7 days.

Over 400 copies of GATS have been sold to churches and charities across the UK since the current Gift Aid arrangements came into force in April 2000.  Updates are issued to handle any changes made by HMRC (such as the change to the model Gift Aid Declaration which came into use from April 2006).

GATS was developed by an experienced charity administrator (who had previously been a church treasurer).  Cleaford Services Ltd, who develop and sell the software, also run a software helpline on 0906 716 0777 (calls charged at 50p per minute) for assistance on any of the applications that they have produced.
