ACTION: ILLEGITIMATE DEBT MEETING - MON 23 JULY

This Monday Jubilee Debt Campaign is hosting a public meeting about illegitimate debt in the Houses of Parliament. The meeting will hear speakers from two countries that are suffering deeply as a result of such debts: Haiti and the Democratic Republic of Congo. It will be an opportunity to hear first hand testimony on the effects of irresponsible lending in the past, and discuss how to stop it happening in the future.

TAKE ACTION: Please write to your MP now about our Lift the Lid campaign and encourage them to attend the meeting: http://voiceyourviews.net/eactivist/vyv.v?v=2121:562:13376:

Please also come to the meeting yourself if you can - it is crucial to demonstrate to MPs who attend that there is strong public interest in this issue.

6pm-8pm, Monday 23rd July 2007

Boothroyd Room, Portcullis House, Embankment, SW1A 2LW

(Please arrive early to allow time to pass through security)

IMF MUST SEIZE CHANCE FOR REFORM

The news that the head of the International Monetary Fund is to step down in October has given European countries a second opportunity this year to scrap the 60-year leadership selection fix at the
international financial institutions.

LOAN SHARKS STALK GLASTONBURY
